Statuette Baule - Côte d'ivoire
This « Bloblo bla » statuette represents a spiritual husband in the Baule tribe. The delicate features reflect an ideal of masculine perfection. The rounded curves are graceful. The belly and the back of the statuette present detailed scarifications, while two cheloids adorn the neck and temples on the face. The beard is very elaborate and extends on the lower part of the face as a sign of sovereignty and authority.
